NASILP 2005 Conference Report IN ARLINGTON , VA
The NALRC Assistant Director, Adedoyin Adenuga represented the National African Language Resource Center at The 2005 Annual Conference scheduled for Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 at the Hilton in Crystal City at the Washington DC National Airport.
The following were topics of discussion at the various workshops and presentations by national figures:
* courseware development
* funding opportunities
* program administration
* second language pedagogy
* distance learning & examinations
* expansion of NASILP web services
* NASILP service recognition
* program growth opportunities
* utilizing Language Resource Centers
* NASILP colleagues & presenters
The NALRC boot was setup and manned throughout the period of the conference. With approximate participants of 50, the booth was kept busy. More than half of the African languages brochures displayed were taken to the advantage of the participants. Many new participants at the conference enlisted their names to be added to the NALRC listserve, so as to benefit from our new materials as they are published. Adedoyin Adenuga returned to Madison on Saturday October 29, 2005.
